The police were alerted on Sunday evening because a neighbor heard a loud argument, officials said. When the 29-year-old man opened the door, the police arrested him.

It turned out that the 26-year-old man had arranged to meet the 18-year-old woman in the apartment. After entering, however, he was attacked with an iron rod by the woman and her previously hidden companion, beaten, sprayed with irritant gas and finally tied up with adhesive tape. The perpetrators are then said to have choked their victim. The police are investigating the background.
