March brings colder air to Germany right at the beginning. But then the high pressure shifts and the weather changes.
March was actually supposed to bring the westerly wind back to Germany and with it milder and wetter weather. But the current weekly forecasts show a different picture: March starts off rather cold before high pressure shifts to southeastern Europe.
Meteorologist Jan Schenk explains: “March will probably start rather cool in the east and mild in the west.”
Spring-like turn in the middle of the month
In the second half of the month, however, the weather pattern changes. Then warm air will increasingly come back to Germany and ensure spring-like temperatures. “It will probably be the case that March will be divided into two parts, at least according to current forecasts. “So it’s most likely that March will start off cool to cold and then the westerly wind will set in,” says Schenk.
