High tension on Wednesday evening in the Champions League. Both the game between Real Madrid and Benfica Lisbon (first leg 1-0) and the French duel between Paris St. Germain and AS Monaco (first leg 3-2) promise excitement. Galatasaray is on its way to the round of 16 after a 5-2 win against Juventus from Turin.
Things are likely to be particularly hot in the Portuguese-Spanish duel. There was excitement in Lisbon over an alleged racist incident against Real Madrid’s Brazilian Vinicius. Because of this, the Argentine football professional Gianluca Prestianni is from Benfica Lisbon temporarily suspended for the second leg. The disciplinary and ethics committee of the European Football Union (Uefa) decided this before the game this Wednesday.

Uefa clarified that the provisional suspension applies regardless of any decisions that the UefaA disciplinary bodies may take following the completion of the ongoing investigation and its submission to the UefaA disciplinary bodies. The continental association cited a prima facie violation of Article 14 of the UEFA Disciplinary Code in connection with discriminatory behavior as the reason for the provisional ban.

Rape allegation: Football star Hakimi has to go to court in France

The defense attorney rejected the allegations and assured that he was looking forward to the criminal proceedings with “calmness.”
“Today, an accusation of rape is enough to justify a trial, even if I reject it and everything proves that it is false,” Hakimi explained on the online service The trial date has not yet been set.
