FC Bayern wins the top Bundesliga game at Borussia Dortmund. BVB fans had meanwhile mocked Bayern. At the end there is the receipt.
It’s doubly bitter for the BVB fans, because they get the receipt for a musical swipe from their counterparts.
When Borussia equalizes 2-2 shortly before the end and hopes of an open title fight arise, the Dortmund supporters are carried away into a chant of abuse.
BVB fans receive nasty counterattacks after insulting chants
“Take off Bayern’s Lederhosen,” echoes through the Westfalenstadion. A little original but well-known tip aimed at guests from the south.
The Bayern fans tried the same tune about ten minutes later after Joshua Kimmich put the league leaders back in the lead shortly before the end. Only the text is different: “Only FCB will be German champions”.
“Who will be German champions? BVB Borussia”
Then the Pippi Longstocking melody says: “Who will be German champion? BVB Borussia!”. A song that the people of Dortmund are only too happy to sing – even if they haven’t been right about it for a long time.
When the south stand registered the abusive song, it drowned it out with a resounding concert of whistles. Bayern still cheer and celebrate.
