Spring is here and temperatures are rising. However, the frost is still persistent during the nights. But from mid-March that will change.
The severe frost has passed, but the nights remain cool.
We can continue to expect light frost until March 15th. Only then will it be frost-free throughout Germany – at least for the second half of March. But be careful: we are still far from frost-proof.
April will be cool – risk of frost until May
The current weather forecasts point to a rather cool April. That means that the Frost in April can always return.
Cold air incursions are possible until May and can bring renewed frost or ground frost. Germany is only really frost-proof in mid-May.
Temperature fluctuations are typical of spring
We are currently experiencing high daily temperatures. It can be frosty in the morning, while temperatures rise to up to 20 degrees in the afternoon. These strong fluctuations are typical of transitional seasons such as spring.
Conclusion on the weather
Spring brings warmer days, but the frost remains with us for the time being. We can only expect frost-free nights from mid-March. But Germany is only really frost-proof from mid-May.
April in particular could bring cooler temperatures and occasional ground frost. If you want to plant plants outdoors, you should be patient.
