Because of the Iran war: Carsten Maschmeyer’s son flees on foot through Dubai’s desert with his one-year-old daughter

Entrepreneur Carsten Maschmeyer was a guest in Sandra Maischberger’s political talk on Wednesday (March 4th). There he talked a lot about the Iran War because his son had to flee Dubai.

Carsten Maschmeyer’s son Marcel, his wife Marie and their one-year-old daughter Malia were in Dubai for a week-long vacation. They wanted to celebrate their wedding anniversary. “But then there was a bang in the truest sense of the word,” the “Lion’s Den” star tells Maischberger on ARD, referring to the outbreak Iran war. All flights were canceled immediately and a return journey seemed impossible.

Carsten Maschmeyer and his wife Veronica Ferres said from Germany: “They definitely have to get out of there.” The couple would have received photos and videos every hour. The situation was serious: a refinery exploded about a kilometer away from where the couple was located. Maschmeyer’s son’s family then initially traveled to Oman.

Escape from Dubai cost Maschmeyer around 20,000 euros

Maurice and his family drove towards the Omani border in a rental car. At the same time, they applied for an immediate visa for the desert state. However, they were not allowed to drive across the border with the rental car. “That’s why they had to walk two kilometers through the desert with the baby and full luggage,” says Maschmeyer, which was recently highlighted in the debate about work ethicson ARD.

The entrepreneur then helped from Germany “through his network” and organized a flight – with success. They were then able to escape the crisis area in a jet. The tickets would have cost around 10,000 euros per person. That was initially secondary. “First of all, I was happy that they were back in one piece. With such a small child, of course, the grandpa feelings immediately arise,” concludes Maschmeyer.

Celebrities are fleeing crisis areas

Maurice Maschmeyer joins a large group of celebrities who suddenly had to leave Dubai. The Pooth family also had to struggle with the effects of the war. Franjo Pooth also traveled through the desertbecause his 14-year-old son Rocco was stuck alone in Dubai.
