Crans-Montana: Politician (18) is said to have stolen from victims


Relatives of a victim of the Crans-Montana fire disaster have taken legal action against a candidate from the right-wing extremist party Rassemblement Romand Patriote (RRP).

The family accuses an 18-year-old RRP party member of… Tragedy at the beginning of the year to have taken several of his deceased friend’s personal items. In addition, the victim’s father sees the peace of the dead disturbed. The advertisement, which is available to the newspaper “24heures”, is dated March 2, 2026.

According to the report, in the days following devastating fire in the bar “Le Constellation” several acquaintances of the deceased – including the accused – in his mother’s apartment. The young man is said to have suggested staying there for a few more days to mourn together with the family. According to the account, he finally left the apartment on January 12, 2026 at the “express request of his father.”

18-year-old denies theft allegations

After his departure, the family discovered that many of the deceased’s personal items were missing. According to the complaint, the items included branded shirts, two jackets, a travel bag and a pair of shoes. The father now accuses the RRP candidate of having stolen the things either shortly before he moved out or even before the funeral.

The accused denies the allegations and told “24heures” that they are “baseless” allegations. “I see this as a real betrayal. This friend was close to me and I am outraged that I am being accused of such a thing,” he continued.

The 18-year-old politician is not mentioned by name, but is currently said to be running for the local elections in the municipality of Pully. “He was my campaign manager for the community,” he said of the deceased, who is also said to have been in the right-wing extremist RRP party.
