“Germany is looking for the superstar” was already thought to be dead, but the RTL show is soon starting a new season. On the DSDS set, Dieter Bohlen is surprisingly self-critical.
Opposite “Picture” he says on the sidelines of the filming of the DSDS recall in Europa-Park in Rust: “People (…) always criticize us and mock that we have never found a real superstar.” He further admits: “Maybe this expression ‘superstar’ isn’t the right one either. It’s really a bit out of date.”
Dieter Bohlen makes a clear announcement to DSDS participants
The statement from the pop titan himself is surprising, after all his show has brought out successful performers with Alexander Klaws, Pietro Lombardi and Beatrice Egli.
After 22 years at the jury table I would like to Bohlen, who recently spoke about emigration plansobviously no more making false promises. He says: “Our task at the moment can really only be to be an accelerator, a catalyst for a further career. Nothing more. Nothing less. We offer them a stepping stone to show what they can or can’t do.”
