Incumbent Armin Krämmer (Free Voters’ Association Chiemsee) experienced an election evening to forget: the learned electrician Although he was the only applicant for the office, he only achieved 47.7 percent according to the interim results of the Breitbrunn am Chiemsee administrative community after all votes were counted.

The majority writes other names on the ballot paper

52.3 percent of the 144 eligible voters wrote other names on the ballot paper. The voter turnout was almost 80 percent. It was not initially clear who Krämmer, who has one term of office behind him, would be running against on March 22nd.

The community with around 200 inhabitants includes the Fraueninsel with the Benedictine monastery, the Herreninsel with the famous castle of King Ludwig II and the uninhabited Krautinsel. Next to the Benedictine nuns live in Chiemsee including fishermen, artists and people working in tourism.
