Video: UAE Air Force fends off Iranian Shahed drones


A video from the United Arab Emirates Air Force shows the country’s air defense shooting down Iranian Shahed drones over the Persian Gulf.

In the photos you can see how Drones be targeted, hit and then brought down. Then a voice announces: “Target destroyed.”

1,400 drones intercepted by UAE forces

In total, more than 1,400 drones are said to have been intercepted by the Emirates armed forces. The drones were previously launched from Iran and aimed at targets across the Gulf region. Shahed drones are considered cheap and quick to produce. Depending on the model, they can cover distances of up to 2,500 kilometers and thus reach large parts of the Middle East.
