Police shot a man in a hospital emergency room in Bavaria. The 35-year-old is said to have threatened a 32-year-old policewoman in Erlangen with a knife and attacked her with pepper spray.
This was announced by a police spokesman. Her 25-year-old colleague then fired a shot from a pistol and hit the man in the thigh. There is no danger to life. The 35-year-old is currently being treated in the hospital.
Suspect in emergency room with alleged poisoning
The 35-year-old is said to have previously stated in the emergency room at the Forest Hospital that he had been poisoned. The hospital then called the police. When the officers arrived in the treatment room, the man was aggressive and eventually pulled out the knife.
According to the police spokesman, the hospital’s emergency room is currently closed. Forensics work there. The State Criminal Police Office is also in action and is investigating the use of firearms.
