Syrian (22) terrorizes electronics store in Bavaria

In Kelheim, Lower Bavaria, a Syrian refugee terrorizes the employees and customers of an electrical store. The police and public prosecutor’s office are powerless.

The Syrian refugee has been causing mischief in the shop for two years. The owner is desperate. “My employees are afraid to come to work,” says the owner to “Bild”. It had been two weeks since the 22-year-old Syrian last struck: he threw TV sets off the shelves and broke them. He is said to have appeared in the electronics store over 20 times, reports “Bild”. The pure material damage is now over 20,000 euros. But what’s worse is that the young man is becoming more and more aggressive. An employee has already resigned, as she tells “Bild”. Her psyche can no longer withstand the attacks.

But the police and public prosecutor’s office are powerless, says the owner. Officials were there within five minutes and would take the man with them. But they couldn’t lock the Syrian away for long. The reason: the 22-year-old’s mental illness. Charges were brought in February last year, but ended in an acquittal.

However, that could now change. “Bild” learned from judicial circles that the 22-year-old would be placed in a psychiatric facility if he committed any further crimes.
