Ice hockey professional collapses and has to be revived


Jordan Murray played for several teams in Germany. A medical emergency involving the Canadian shocks the Austrian ice hockey world.

An ice hockey game in Austria was overshadowed by a serious incident. There was a medical emergency in the ICE quarter-final game between the record champions KAC from Klagenfurt and the Hungarian team Fehervar.

Ice hockey professional collapses during game and has to be resuscitated on ice

Professional Jordan Murray from Canada, who had been active in the German Ice Hockey League (DEL) for four years, was affected, as the club announced on its website. As several Austrian media reported, Murray collapsed on the ice early in the game without any intervention from the opponent.

The 33-year-old had to be resuscitated on the ice and ultimately taken to hospital. The game in Klagenfurt was stopped in the 18th minute when the score was 1-0.

Murray was under contract for the German clubs Grizzlys Wolfsburg, Adler Mannheim and the Schwenninger Wild Wings. Last summer he moved from Germany to Klagenfurt.
