Up to 152 euros: This is how much your pension will increase from July


The statutory pension in Germany will increase by 4.24 percent on July 1, 2026. The increase occurs automatically. Our table shows how much more money you can expect.

The maximum pension increase is around 152 euros. Anyone who has received the maximum pension of almost 3,600 euros will receive it. Smaller pensions only increase by a few euros, as you can see in the table below.

Pensioners don’t have to do anything to receive the increase, it comes automatically. Even those who retire later will automatically receive benefits at the current benefit level.

How the pension increase is calculated

In fact, it increases Basis for calculating the pension: the pension value. While it was previously at 40.79 euros, it will rise July 1, 2026 to 42.52 euros.

Contributors can receive a maximum of two pension points per year, then the contribution assessment limit applies. In 2026, that’s just under 3,589 euros in pension for someone who has earned twice the average income throughout their working life. This pensioner will receive 152 euros more in July, i.e. 3,741 euros per month.

Standard pension increases by 78 euros

The standard pension that someone receives who has received the average income throughout their working life is currently 1,836 euros. It increases by almost 78 euros to 1914 euros.

Pensioners, like employees, can save taxes through special expenses. Changing your health insurance company may also bring in a few euros.

Pension level remains at 48 percent

The Pension increase in 2026 has that Federal Ministry of Labor announced in Berlin last week. Pensions are rising significantly more than was forecast in the autumn. Labor Minister Bärbel Bas emphasized: “The good wage development is once again leading to a noticeable pension adjustment, which reflects the reliability of the statutory pension.”

At the end of the year, the federal government had set the pension level at 48 percent until 2031. This holding line will be taken into account when calculating the pension increase, specifically when determining the current pension value, said Bas. In return, the federal government is accepting an increase in pension contributions. The pension insurance expects the contribution to rise to 19.8 percent in 2028.
