Flick saves child from distress in crowd: “Get him out of there!”

In terms of sport, things didn’t go well for Hansi Flick’s Barça in Newcastle. But before the game, the coach creates enthusiasm with a touching gesture: he saves a crying boy from the crowd of fans.

It wasn’t necessarily his evening in terms of sport, but former national coach Hansi Flick caused enthusiasm with an action off the pitch. Shortly before FC Barcelona’s Champions League game at Newcastle United, a video appeared online showing Flick helping a young fan.

Hansi Flick comforts a crying boy

The boy was standing behind a barrier with other fans at the stadium and was in danger of being crushed by the crowd behind him. A steward shouted at the autograph hunters that they should all stand down.

Flick also reacted immediately and tried to help the boy. A voice could also be heard from the background that kept shouting: “Get him out of there!”

Boy wipes tears from eyes after exciting moment

Barca coach Flick personally ensured that the little fan was brought to safety on the other side of the barrier.

There he comforted the crying boy and asked the child if everything was okay. The little boy nodded bravely and wiped a few tears from his face.

Barcelona have to be happy with a 1-1 draw at Newcastle

In terms of sport, Flick came under unexpected pressure with FC Barcelona on Tuesday evening. The Spanish champions only managed a 1-1 (0-0) draw in the first leg at Newcastle United thanks to a late penalty from Lamine Yamal (90+6).

National player Malick Thiaw brought down Dani Olmo. National striker Nick Woltemade sat on the bench for 90 minutes at Newcastle.

United were the better team, but were rarely really dangerous. However, Harvey Barnes (87′) managed to score the late goal – it wasn’t enough for the win. Barcelona didn’t take the last risk at St. James’ Park but will want to sort things out in the second leg at home on March 18 (Wednesday).

The parallel game was much more eventful and strange. Tottenham Hotspur replaced their debut goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky after 17 devastating minutes in the 2:5 (1:4) defeat at Atlético Madrid. The Czech slipped with the ball on his foot before Marcos Llorente made it 1-0 for the Spaniards (6th), and Micky van de Ven slipped before Antoine Griezmann made it 2-0 (14th).

Just 30 seconds later, Kinsky made another fatal mistake when he stepped next to the ball while trying to pass. Julian Alvarez pushed in (15th). Team manager Igor Tudor immediately ended Kinsky’s Champions League debut and brought on Guglielmo Vicario, who he had actually taken out of the goal due to poor performances. Vicario conceded the fourth goal from Robin Le Normand (22′) just five minutes later.

The first Spurs goal from Pedro Porro (26th) was countered again by Alvarez (56th). Dominic Solanke’s goal (76th) leaves Spurs with a minimal chance for the second leg.
