District administrator receives death threats because of compulsory work for citizens’ benefit recipients


The police are once again investigating a death threat directed against the SPD politician and district administrator Matthias Jendricke.

This is not the first death threat Jendricke has received. According to reports, some of the threatening letters explicitly referred to a controversial issue Work project in the Nordhausen district, which was introduced by the SPD district administrator last November. Police investigate threats against district administrator

All investigative approaches are being examined, but there are no results yet, said a spokesman for the police in Nordhausen. But he confirms that it is about threats and insults.

Jendricke explains that his project is about young recipients of community benefit who would not respond to cover letters. For the SPD politician, the reaction to this is clear: “You can’t get anywhere with a simple speech. At some point someone has to ring the bell,” says the district administrator.
