Up to 100 km/h: Spring storm hits us this weekend


A strong storm will hit Germany next weekend and will cause dangerous gusts, especially in the north and west. Meteorologist Jan Schenk warns in a weather talk with FOCUS online.

“Gusts of 80 to 100 km/h are possible on the ground, perhaps even more near the coast,” said the meteorologist.

According to Schenk, the strongest winds occur around midday on Friday: “That’s when it gets pretty dangerous. You should put your things away, otherwise something will fly away.” Even if the gusts of wind decrease over the course of the day, there may still be isolated strong gusts into the evening. On Sunday, a weaker cold front will reach Germany again, but will bring significantly less wind with.
