“She was trapped in her own world and could no longer take part in normal life,” Heino told “Bild am Sonntag” about Petra’s condition. For the musician, the loss was a traumatic moment: “It was the worst thing I’ve been through to date.”

Petra was born in 1968 from a short relationship with a former childhood sweetheart. At that time Heino was already married. However, for a long time he did not know that he had become a father.

“Once a woman with a blonde child stood in front of me after a concert and said: ‘Heino, that’s your daughter,’” he said in an interview with the “Rheinische Post” in 2023. “The girl was already seven years old at the time; she arose from a liaison before the start of my career, which was later confirmed in court. I didn’t know it – otherwise I would have taken care of it sooner.”

He says about her conception in the RTL documentary: “It was a great night with far-reaching financial consequences. But I was happy to pay for my daughter.”
