The CDU parliamentary group leader angrily lectured the AfD MPs: “You dream of ruling Germany. But you have, sir Chrupallanot even your own little shop, your party under control. Under your leadership, a self-service mentality has spread throughout your party at all levels.”

Spahn: “This is fraud on the taxpayer”

In the plenary session there were loud heckling from the AfD faction during the speech. Spahn nevertheless continued his criticism: “If you employ my two sisters, I will employ your 80-year-old father. And the colleague in the state parliament still employs your half-brother. That is the motto with which you are systematically operating here. That is fraudulent taxpayer. And we won’t let him get away with it here, you can’t get out of the debate that cheaply.”

Spahn’s swipe was aimed at recent reports that numerous AfD representatives employ relatives such as siblings, parents or even partners in their offices.
