Particular attention must be paid to possible developments after Thursday. “Our EZ model includes an Italian low, so we suddenly see heavy snowfall. In that case, Munich would also be affected,” explains Schenk, but emphasizes that this is not yet certain: “You have to pay close attention to the weather models to see whether snow will come from Italy again or whether that was just a model fantasy.”

Temperatures drop to single digits, especially in the south and east, and frost may occur for a short time at night. “smoothness is of course an issue. Especially when it snows, it can be very slippery. Even though the snow melts quickly in most cases, it can remain dangerous at higher altitudes,” warns Schenk.
