HateAid boss: Fernandes has the advantage of being able to sue in Spain

The Ulmen-Fernandes case is a current case that represents a larger problem. German law does not punish perpetrators, but for Fernandes it is an advantage to be able to sue in Spain: “For most people in this country that is not possible.” The law must change.

According to “Spiegel”, she reported her ex-husband Christian Ulmen and accused him of “virtually raping” her. Ulmen’s lawyer Christian Schertz announced legal action against the reporting, which was “largely inadmissible suspicious reporting.” In addition, “untrue facts are spread based on a one-sided description”.

Several musicians will also perform at the Brandenburg Gate in the afternoon, such as the initiative “Nur Ja Means Yes” and a newly founded alliance called “Feminist Fight Club” led by Kira Bönisch (“Fridays for Future”). 500 participants were registered with the police for 4 p.m.

Elmen lawyer comments

The magazine “Spiegel” gave Ulmen the opportunity to comment. His lawyers offered the journalists a background conversation. They therefore responded to some of the allegations. However, the conversation should not be reported.

In response to a BUNTE.de query, Christian Ulmen’s lawyer announced on Thursday evening (March 19th) that “untrue facts are being spread based on a one-sided description.” Legal action should be taken. There was no further comment on the allegations.

So far there has been no further statement from him regarding the allegations. After Fernandes’ complaint, a preliminary investigation was initiated. So far it is unclear how the process will continue. Christian Ulmen is presumed innocent.
