Wolfgang Grupp gave an interview and commented on it for the first time after his suicide attempt.

Above all, giving up his position as head of his textile company was a trigger. “I was faced with an emptiness. I thought that I was no longer needed, or that I was no longer important,” Grupp continued. He thought about it a lot and couldn’t sleep. The suicide attempt was then “a short-circuit reaction” that “I later very much regretted and would certainly not repeat.”
He has now recovered. “I feel very comfortable, I am still valued by those around me and I am happy that I can get up in a reasonably healthy state every morning,” said Grupp. He is now taking medication for his depression. It’s gone. He also recently completed his first public appearance since last summer.
Found new joy
He I go to the office regularly and do Trigema’s production planning. He is also working on a biography that will be published before Easter. It has become quieter. But: “Responsibility can also be a burden,” says Grupp. He also enjoys his time as a grandfather. “My daughter lives in the house next door and I see my grandchild every day,” said the well-known entrepreneur.
