Despite repeated help from Jauch: “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” candidate is on the fence

“Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” candidate Philip Kern from Bühl doesn’t know what to do with Anglicism. Jauch’s tips don’t help either.

  • In the video above: Philipp Elsner from Berlin also missed out on winning due to a four-time joker failure

At the beginning of the program, the candidate was faced with the 4,000 euro question. The overhang candidate again had his aunt with him during his comeback on Monday (March 23rd). Also back on site: his three untouched Jokers. But despite Joker and several assistance from Günther Jauch, who had to rein in a swearing candidatehe didn’t clear the 32,000 euro hurdle.

“Which Anglicism can already be found in Urdu from 1880?” was the quiz question. Job, shampoo, okay, dandy? After the 50:50 joker, “Job” and “Dandy” remained. Not only did the 31-year-old candidate not know the answer, but he also didn’t know the word “dandy.”

Philipp Elsner had so much bad luck with his jokers that he can hope for a comeback in the “Loser Special”. RTL

Günther Jauch tried to help him out by asking whether he or the candidate would fall into this category of people. Jauch answered his rhetorical question himself: He was convinced that Philip Kern embodied the dandy type rather than the moderator.

Lots of help, but the “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” candidate doesn’t dare

Jauch had this assessment confirmed by the candidate’s aunt, who was traveling with him. “Three Dandies” would still be available as telephone jokers, the moderator suggested to the perplexed candidate with a wink. When the three were shown on the screen, Jauch gave another hint: “The hat doesn’t fit the dandy, I can say that much.” The Joker himself guessed “Dandy”.

Despite all the more or less hidden assistance, Philip Kern did not dare to take the risk of falling to 500 euros. He left with 16,000 euros instead. With the answer “Dandy” he would have earned at least 32,000. Jauch explained to him that a dandy is usually dressed and styled in a particularly fashionable way. With his mustache and his hairstyle, the candidate would correspond to this image, Jauch thought.
