Diesel plant explodes in Texas – video shows fireball


A massive explosion rocked a refinery owned by the energy company Valero Energy in Port Arthur, Texas. Eyewitnesses reported a huge explosion that shook buildings.

Videos show a large fireball and a thick column of smoke over Port Arthur in the southeast of Texas. The explosion occurred on Monday evening in a Diesel-Processing plant. Parts of the refinery were shut down.

A defective industrial heater caused a fire

According to “nexta.tv”, the fire could be contained but not completely extinguished. Authorities urged residents to stay in their homes while the Air quality is monitored. According to initial information, no one was injured. A defective industrial heater is considered a possible cause, but this has not yet been confirmed.
