Collien Fernandes was actually supposed to appear at a demo in Hamburg on Thursday (March 26). But now she had to cancel her appearance due to serious safety concerns.
The actress announced this on Instagram. After Collien Fernandes’ “virtual rape” allegations against her ex Christian Ulmen became public through a “Spiegel” investigation, the actress received a wave of support. Among other things, a demo is planned for Thursday in Hamburg. But the “Dream Ship” actress also gets a lot of hate online.
Collien Fernandes: “Because it takes courage to speak out”
“Is this your way, dear misogynists, to deal with it?” asks Collien Fernandes in her post. “How are women supposed to have the courage to rebel in the future if that’s your answer – you’re silenced like that?”
Although she can no longer take part in the demonstration, she asks her followers to be loud for her. “We urgently need to bring light into the dark field!” The majority of intimate partner and digital violence is still obscure, explains Collien Fernandes, whose sister spoke out about the casefurther. “Why? Because it takes courage to speak up, to make it known that the dear, nice uncle/grandpa/father is perhaps not just the dear, nice uncle/grandpa/father!”
In solidarity with Collien Fernandes: Demo in Berlin
Last weekend, thousands of people took to the streets in Berlin in solidarity with Collien Fernandes. Many celebrities also spoke at the demo. But hundreds of women, including many celebrities, have also come together online to fight for tougher laws.
Christian Ulmen’s lawyer comments
The magazine “Spiegel” gave Ulmen the opportunity to comment. His lawyers offered the journalists a background conversation. They therefore responded to some of the allegations. However, the conversation should not be reported.
In response to a BUNTE.de query, Christian Ulmen’s lawyer announced on March 19th that “untrue facts are being spread based on a one-sided description.” Legal action should be taken. There was no further comment on the allegations.
So far there has been no further statement from him regarding the allegations. After Fernandes’ complaint, a preliminary investigation was initiated. So far it is unclear how the process will continue. Christian Ulmen is presumed innocent.
