AfD youth leader makes anti-Semitic and racist comments

Julia Gehrckens, board member of the AfD youth organization Generation Germany, has made anti-Semitic and racist comments. This is what undercover research by stern and RTL shows.

Gehrckens, for example, described Pforzheim as a “godless kanaka city” and called the Left “mentally ill.” She also confirmed the claim that the banks in America would Jews belong – “that’s just true”. About an alleged connection between “ethnicity and IQ” she said: “It becomes extremely controversial when you say that ethnicity and IQ are also connected.”

The statements were made in June 2025 in the context of the “International Women’s Congress” of the ESN group in the European Parliament, which also included the AfD heard, as well as around a meeting of the AfD-affiliated women’s network “Lukreta” a week earlier. The Office for the Protection of the Constitution in North Rhine-Westphalia classifies “Lukreta” as a suspected right-wing extremist case.

Gehrckens called for “millions of remigration”

When the “Generation Germany” was founded in November 2025, Gehrckens publicly called for “millions of remigration”. She was subsequently elected to the board despite an opposing candidate.

The AfD had theirs Youth organization restructured last year to better control extremist tendencies. Because Generation Germany – unlike the previous organization – is part of the AfD, radical statements can now reflect directly on the party and have an impact on a possible ban procedure.

North Rhine-Westphalia’s Interior Minister Herbert Reul (CDU) calls the new AfD youth “old wine in new bottles”: “The previous organization was an extremely radicalized group. If the staff hardly changes, it can be assumed that things will continue as before under a different name.”

Julia Gehrckens did not respond to a request for comment star and RTL. AfD leader Alice Weidel and the chairman of Generation Germany, Jean-Pascal Hohm, also left a request for comment unanswered.
