Warning words from Diplo influencer Annalena Baerbock seem like they come from another world. She completely ignores the seriousness of reality. Tehran is the mother ship of terror – and the USA and Israel do the “dirty work”.

I usually only feel embarrassed when I watch reality TV. This weekend also because of our Diplo influencer Annalena Baerbock’s denial of reality. As clear as the Green Party is about Russia’s war against Ukraine, its stance on Operation Epic Fury is just as quixotic.
“I condemn the extremely dangerous military escalation in the Middle East,” wrote the President of the UN General Assembly on
Because…diplomatic efforts have been so extremely successful so far? Despite all the German business delegations in Tehran and red carpets in Berlin, the mullahs’ tyranny surprisingly always remained the mullahs’ tyranny. Even the act of cultural subjugation, when naked ancient statues were veiled in Rome in 2016 for the distinguished visit from Tehran, did not change the theocrats’ minds.
Mass murderers have no partners
Does anyone believe that this regime – which for 47 years has been massacring its own people, killing Syrian civilians, raining missiles on Ukraine via Russia and posing a nuclear threat to global security – that these mass murderers will ever be partners in peace?
Tehran is the mother ship of terror. Its subsidiaries Hezbollah, Hamas and the Houthis want to wipe out Israel and destabilize the entire region. The Revolutionary Guards break international law every day.
Others do the “dirty work”.
The International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights is also one of them. Article 1: “All peoples have the right to self-determination.” They “decide freely about their political status and shape their economic, social and cultural development in freedom.” Iran has ratified it. Just doesn’t stick to it. Mostly without consequences.
Now the USA and Israel are doing the “dirty work” to use the much criticized but apt Merz quote. US soldiers and Israeli civilians are currently paying with their lives for this mission against terror. Just like innocent people in Iran. Nevertheless, the death of Chief Mullah Ali Khamenei is – also – celebrated there.
The outrage in parts of the MAGA movement, which was promised an end to the “forever wars,” is also an unknown factor in the Iran equation. Trump’s power politics remains unpredictable. And the risks of attacking Iran are undeniably high. One has to hope all the more that they will be successful – and bring the Iranians the freedom they long for.
