However, there are negative facts opposing increasing integration efforts: According to a recent study by the Federal Criminal Police Office The tendency towards Islamism is now very widespread, especially among younger members of the Islamic faith. The numbers are alarming. Finally: The war against an Islamofascist country, Iran, which also affects Germany, casts a bad light on a religious-ideological regime that slaughters critics in its own country, spreads terror elsewhere and wages war on Arab countries.

There is a green Islam offensive

In short: Islam has a bad reputation right now, which has certainly not gone unnoticed by the 5.6 million Muslims who live in Germany. The vast majority of them have been there for many years, the longer, the more integrated, even more saturated.

But now the Greens want to combat what they believe is rampant “anti-Muslim racism”. “Anti-Muslim racism” has long since become a left-wing buzzword that generally labels Muslims as victims and generally labels non-Muslims as perpetrators. This topic also drives the international face of the Greens: Annalena Baerbock.

So you can say: There is a green Islam offensive – at the state and federal political level and internationally. The Greens are in opposition in Berlin, but they govern in federal states – and are also active outside of Germany.

Why are the Greens waiting until after the election?

The Green Party’s motion, written by the according to migration politician Lamya Kaddorsigned by the two parliamentary group leaders Dröge and Hasselmann, will soon come to the Bundestag. He has 24 individual points and has been around for a long time. Controversy about this is foreseeable; the Greens, for example, want to get rid of the headscarf ban in public services.

Neither did the motion come to the plenary session and thus to the broader public before the Baden-Württemberg state elections. He will come to the plenary session before the Rhineland-Palatinate state elections. It takes place on Sunday. The Greens say it was postponed because of Ramadan. Because of the elections, says the Union.

Which suggests that the Greens want to hide what they are planning. If that’s true, then only half of it. Every citizen can read what it says on the Bundestag website. And what the Greens think about it. “Anti-Muslim racism” is a thorn in their side – that is, systematic hostility towards Islamic people in Germany. “Islamophobic crimes have tripled since 2021,” says Kaddor. In fact, there were 110 cases in 2021, and 338 cases three years later.

Annalena Baerbock becomes the face of pro-Islam

However, the crimes against Muslims bear no relation to the crimes committed by Muslims, as recorded in the police crime statistics, even broken down by country of origin. Afghans and Iraqis are particularly overrepresented in crimes against physical integrity; both have predominantly Muslim populations.

“The Greens pander to Islam, they want to feel elevated”

The Swiss author and lawyer Emrah Erken, a knowledgeable critic of Islam for many years, says that the Greens pander to Islam – “in order to feel exalted”. That shouldn’t be the only reason: being pro-migrant is part of the founding idea of ​​the Greens. Because many of the immigrants to Germany are of Islamic faith, the Greens reflexively defend Islam. Even when terrorist attacks by Islamists are carried out, it is often said that they have nothing to do with Islam. And rapes of women by male migrants are often reinterpreted as “toxic masculinity”: However, toxic masculinity has a cultural-religious reason. A prominent Green regularly contradicts his own party: Cem Özdemir, who wants to become Prime Minister of Baden-Württemberg.

The ban on headscarves in the public sector is a thorn in Lamya Kaddor’s side. In the Greens’ proposal, however, one looks in vain for a reference to the Iranian women’s fight for freedom, which is also a fight against the Islamic headscarf.

The Frankfurt Islam researcher Schröter calls the Green list of demands, which also aims for equality with Christian religious communities, “absolutely naive”. There is pressure from “the Muslim communities” on Muslim girls and women to wear a headscarf. And there is “religious bullying” in local schools. The Greens simply don’t take notice.

Islamism is increasing sharply, says the BKA

The BKA study found that every second Muslim under the age of 40 has an affinity for Islam. According to Schröter, this means that the critical attitude towards Muslims that undoubtedly exists in Germany has a “context” without which it cannot be evaluated.

Asylum migration to Germany has damaged integration. It has also harmed the children of Muslims who have been living here for a long time and who suffer from “general suspicion”. As a result of migration, there is imported anti-Semitism, there are caliphate demonstrations. And a significant increase in violence by migrants of Islamic faith.

In any case, integration and tolerance towards Islam is no longer a given. What Greens often don’t see: This is less due to the majority society’s opposition to Islam than to the disintegration signals – to put it neutrally – of immigrants. There are reasons to view Islam critically, i.e. critically, ideologically.
