A few days after the 5-0 win against Slovenia, national coach Christian Wück’s team won the 43rd duel with the Norwegians 4-0 (3-0) in Stavanger.

Elisa Senß (18th minute), Carlotta Wamser (45th+1), Vivien Endemann (45th+4) and Jule Brand (58th) scored for the highly efficient DFB team in front of 8,500 spectators. The topic of exploiting opportunities, often discussed in recent months, was not one this time. The DFB selection mercilessly punished the gaps in the Norwegian defense.

Wück makes three changes

Compared to the Slovenia game in Dresden, Wück relied on vice-captain Janina Minge instead of Camilla Küver in central defense. Nicole Anyomi was allowed to play in the center of the attack instead of Shekiera Martinez, and EM discovery Wamser started for Linda Dallmann. In the attacking three-man midfield line, Wamser took over the right side, Jule Brand moved into the Dallmann position in the center.

The DFB team quickly got over their fear of the unfamiliar artificial turf. After captain Giulia Gwinn, who was playing her 70th international match, won the ball, Anyomi served Endemann, who was also running along, in an exemplary manner. But the Wolfsburg player put the ball at the right outside post from 15 meters.

A little later, Senß did better from an almost identical position: Knaak sent left-back Franziska Kett down the wing, whose deflected cross landed right at Senß. The Leverkusen player scored directly and unstoppably to make it 1-0.

With the lead behind them, the guests largely controlled the game, even if goalkeeper Ann-Katrin Berger had to make a desperate save from a double chance against Signe Gaupset and former world footballer Ada Hegerberg.

Furious phase before the break

Shortly before the break, the classic game picked up speed: Endemann, who was once again eye-catching, exposed the Norwegian defense with a fine pass, so that Wamser in the center only had to poke the ball past Cecilie Fiskerstrand.

Seconds later, 120 traveling fans saw the same combination, this time Wamser’s ball landing in the hands of Norway’s goalkeeper Cecilie Fiskerstrand. The Germans were still allowed to celebrate a third time before the break. Anyomi, who benefited from Frida Maanum’s bad pass, saw Endemann put the ball under the crossbar in front of Fiskerstrand.

Wück applauded with a smile in view of the clear break. After the substitution, he saw Berger save strongly against Maanum before the following counterattack via Endemann made it 4-0. Brand pushed the ball through the legs of the pitiful Norwegian keeper.

Veit from Frankfurt makes her international debut

As a result, Wück helped Frankfurt’s Jella Veit make her international debut. The 20-year-old moved into defense for Minge. Dallmann, Lea Schüller, Sarai Linder and Laura Freigang were also able to gain match practice, while the German fans expressed their joy with chants of “Oh, how beautiful that is.” Endemann even missed the 5-0 in stoppage time.

The DFB team continues in the World Cup qualification against Austria, first on April 14th in Nuremberg, then on April 18th in Ried.
