On Wednesday, Iranian drones were said to have attacked fuel tanks in the Omani port of Salalah. This was reported by the British maritime security company Ambrey.
According to the AFP news agency, the Iran thus continuing its counterattacks on the Gulf region. A clip currently circulating on X is said to show the fire after the drone attack.
No damage to merchant ships
According to Ambrey, no damage to merchant vessels was reported. At the beginning of March there were reports of a drone attack on a fuel tank in the Omani port of Duqm.
The Omani News Sample reported: “A security source reported that several drones were shot down, while others hit fuel tanks in the port of Salalah.” No casualties were reported.
The private maritime security company Vanguard Tech reports the suspension of port operations following the attack on the southern part of the port.
