The 34-year-old is probably deep in a criminal quagmire. The public prosecutor’s office accuses him of attempted murder and armed drug trafficking. As a cover, the German, who had multiple convictions, played under a false identity for the Munich district club SpVgg Haidhausen, as the “Mercury” reported.

In December, the investigators contacted the club and the Bavarian Football Association (BFV) about this. Haidhausen club boss Giusepe Scialdone didn’t believe the allegations, as he reported to “Merkur” when asked: “It’s absolute madness. He was completely inconspicuous, didn’t throw money around. He said he has a gym.”

But the 34-year-old led a double life. According to the police, investigators found five kilos in his apartment in December Drugs50,000 euros in cash, live firearms and several false passports. The suspect had previously raced towards the police in his car when he was arrested and could only be stopped by gunfire.

For SpVgg Haidhausen, the uncovered criminal activities of their player are doubly bitter. According to the club boss, the 34-year-old winger’s services even cost the club a transfer fee in the summer; he was a top performer. He is now in custody. In addition, the sports court deducted a total of 27 points from the district league team. The player was “not in possession of a valid playing permit,” according to an email from the BFV to the club.

And this despite the association making it clear that Haidhausen could not have known about the false identity. Club boss Scialdone has already announced opposition to the verdict: “We are not to blame, we are the ones who suffer. All of us – the association and the club – have become victims of a fraudster. I assume that the decision will be made in the spirit of justice.”
