Five people were injured in a traffic accident in the Ammerland district, including two children aged six and seven.
The injured were taken to hospital after a head-on collision between two vehicles in Edewecht, but their lives were not in danger, according to police. A rescue helicopter was also used to treat one of the children.
Woman and grandchildren run into oncoming traffic
The accident occurred on a federal highway between Moslesfehn and Klein Scharrel. A 65-year-old, who had her six-year-old granddaughter with her, drove her car into oncoming traffic for reasons that are still unclear. Her car crashed into an oncoming vehicle and spun into the ditch. Three of those involved suffered serious injuries.
