A 29-year-old brutally beats his ex-girlfriend, attacks her in a women’s shelter and drags her half-naked through the city. Now the torture tyrant has been convicted. The judge spoke of a “shocking” excess of violence.
Responsible for the brutal crime: a 29-year-old German-Algerian with a criminal record. This Friday, the first jury chamber of the Heilbronn regional court sentenced him to 12 years in prison.
German-Algerian (29) has to go to prison for 12 years
The presiding judge, Martin Liebisch, spoke of a “shocking” crime that the public prosecutor had even classified as “attempted murder”. But the court did not follow this assessment. “We cannot prove beyond a doubt that there was intent to kill,” said the judge.
What exactly the perpetrator had done to his former partner came to light during the criminal trial. Accordingly, the two had a toxic relationship characterized by brutal violence, jealousy and revenge. The woman is said to have actually completely submitted to the dominant man. She gave up her job and almost all of her social contacts, and even wore a burqa for his sake.
Toxic relationship: brute force, jealousy, revenge
The German-Algerian behaved like a pasha – and became violent several times. He is said to have beaten the woman if the food was not on the table on time.
According to the investigation, the situation first escalated in Neckarsulm at the beginning of May 2025 when the man beat the woman in her apartment until she was hospitalized. In order to escape her tormentor, the woman fled from the clinic to a women’s shelter on May 8th and ended her relationship with the German-Algerian. But he didn’t want to accept the separation and attacked his ex on June 15th in the safe room of the women’s shelter.
He beat her with his fist for hours, choked her and put out a lit cigarette on her. He struck so powerfully that the victim’s blood sprayed up to the 2.20 meter high rafters of a shelter, as the “Heilbronner Stimme” reported from the trial.
The perpetrator drags the half-naked woman through the city
He forced the woman to strip down to her panties and dragged her through the small town of Künzelsau in Baden-Württemberg, subjecting her to severe beatings. The victim’s entire body was torn open and the woman suffered a cerebral hemorrhage. The ordeal lasted a total of around 30 hours.
The woman’s defense attorney said during the main hearing that her client’s life was “hanging by a thread.” To this day she suffers from headaches, sleep disorders and panic attacks. Her face is scarred and her eyesight is poor. Even the defendant’s defense attorney spoke of an unforgivable act and called for a high sentence. According to “Heilbronner Stimme,” the woman now lives in the witness protection program and “hardly dares go out on the streets anymore.”
The convicted person has to go to a rehabilitation center after half of his prison term
The perpetrator from Pforzheim, who had already been convicted several times for domestic violence, had already confessed to the heinous crime at the start of the trial: “I admit all of the crimes.” He attributed his violent excesses to massive drug consumption and alcohol addiction. A psychiatric expert recommended placement in a rehabilitation facility. The convicted person can only begin therapy there after serving six years in prison.
