91-year-old Hermann Ruth from Arnsbach recently fell victim to an attempted fraud when strangers contacted him on the phone and pretended to be police officers. But the pensioner reacted cleverly.
Apparently they wanted to get him to “secure” valuables. “I then said in a disguised voice: ‘Yes, who is there?’ said,” reports Hermann. Using a skillful act of acting, he pretended to own a valuable collection of gold coins that offered him financial security.
