Restrained boos against the Chancellor during the government poll in the Bundestag on Wednesday. When asked by a Green MP, Friedrich Merz revealed a gap in his knowledge.
The Green MP Lena Gumnior wanted to know from Merz why he had not yet commented on the Collien Fernandes case. Friedrich Merz then spoke about the time she was a member of parliament. He literally said: “I don’t know how long you have been a member of the Bundestag.” Gumnior visibly shook his head. Numerous shouts of disappointment could be heard from the plenum.

Merz further explained that a law protecting against violence had been introduced at his request, which did not receive a majority in the traffic light government.
