Sven Ulreich: Played from the start because Neuer and Urbig were injured. Ulreich couldn’t do anything at 0-1 because Garcia’s shot deflected off Tah. He made a great save with a foot defense against Schick. When Maza had a chance, Bayern’s third goalkeeper got his legs together quickly enough. In stoppage time, Ulreich saved Bayern’s point with a world-class reaction against Maza. What a parade! Grade: 1.

Ulreich inspires with world-class reaction to Bayern comeback

Josip Stanisic: Played flawlessly against his former loan club. Overall, showed a decent performance. In the final phase, Stanisic failed with a shot past Bayer goalkeeper Blaswich. Grade: 3.

Dayot Upamecano: Was always attentive, cleared important balls and won critical duels. Good performance. Grade: 2.

Jonathan Tah: Deflected the ball from Garcia before the 0-1. Then netted in his old place, but the goal was canceled by VAR because Tah got the ball on his elbow beforehand. Otherwise played a solid game. Grade: 3.

Konrad Laimer: Had to play as left-back again. Had a lot to do defensively against Leverkusen, who were pressing well, and therefore couldn’t often help up front. Grade: 3.

Joshua Kimmich: Was highly motivated and often had to discuss things with referee Dingert. A lot went through Kimmich during the build-up, but the big highlights remain missing. Decent game. Grade: 3.

Aleksandar Pavlovic: Was very present at headquarters. I had to make decisions again and again in a very small space because the home team closed the center down a lot. Pavlovic kept finding solutions, but wasn’t very effective going forward. Was replaced after almost an hour. Grade: 3.

Michael Olise: Was taken out of the game at times in the first half by the Leverkusen defense. Olise then prepared Diaz’s 1-1 goal nicely – it was his 18th assist this season. Grade: 2.

Karl largely signed off, grade 6 after a brutal foul by Jackson

Lennart Karl: Was pretty much up in the air and had few good actions. The youngster was largely unregistered and was taken off the pitch by coach Kompany after around an hour. Grade: 4.

Luis Diaz: Lost the ball before Leverkusen’s opening goal. Wasted a huge chance when he slipped after a great Bayern attack and hit the ball well over the box. Diaz prepared the supposed 1-1 by Kane – but the goal was not given because Kane previously touched the ball with his elbow. Shortly afterwards, the Colombian himself equalized: Diaz, after being ripped off by Olise, finished off a Bayern counterattack flat into the corner. In the 84th minute, Diaz was shown a yellow-red card for an alleged swallow – a crazy decision by referee Dingert. Nevertheless: A good game from Diaz, grade: 2.

Nicholas Jackson: Had the first opportunity for Bayern, but missed the goal. Then he shot into the arms of keeper Blaswich from a good position with the next chance. Jackson was sent off before half-time after hitting Terrier’s ankle with an open sole in midfield. The red card was completely justified – and absolutely unnecessary from the Bayern striker. Because of this stupid action, Bayern had to finish half of the game outnumbered. Grade: 6.

Harry Kane (61st for Karl): Scored immediately after being substituted on, but according to the video images, the goal was not given: Beforehand, Kane touched the ball with his elbow as he turned away. As always, he hung in there and worked a lot on defense. Grade: 3.

Leon Goretzka (61st for Pavlovic): LAfter being substituted on, he quickly passed the ball forward several times on offense. Didn’t show anything spectacular, but finished the game cleanly. Grade: 3.
