The Iranian police chief and the secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council were at a demonstration in Tehran despite the ongoing airstrikes. This is reported by Iranian state media.
Several high-ranking Iranian officials and government supporters were said to have been at the site on Friday. Recordings are intended to show how Ahmed-Reza Radan and Ali Larijani take part in the demo. When and whether the videos and photos were taken on site cannot be conclusively clarified. Further footage is also said to show an air strike near the demonstration.
The occasion is “Al-Quds Day”
The state-organized Al-Quds demonstration is an annual one at the end of the fasting month Ramadan demonstration taking place. The occasion is “Al-Quds Day,” which the former revolutionary leader Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini introduced in 1979. On this day, solidarity should be expressed to the Palestinians for their “liberation struggle”.
