A massive dust cloud from the Sahara is spreading and covering large parts of Europe. Germany is also affected.
As of today, southern Europe is controlled by the Sahara dust cloud enveloped. Spain and Portugal are particularly affected, and later also Italy and France. The amount of dust is enormous and the sky can change color significantly.
Rain of blood on Mallorca and southern Europe
In Spain and Portugal it can even be between Tuesday and Friday Blood rain come. The Sahara dust is washed out of the air by rain. Blood rain is possible in Mallorca on Wednesday.
Blood rain could also occur in the south of France from Thursday.
Germany: Spectacular sky instead of blood rain
There will be no blood rain in Germany, but the effects of the Sahara dust are already visible. On Monday morning, so-called sundogs could be observed over southern Germany: reflections, i.e. small sundogs, could be seen to the right and left of the rising sun.
From Friday onwards the dust will increase significantly over Germany, but without rain. This could cause the sky to change color significantly. Sunrises and sunsets in particular could appear exceptionally intense in the coming days. We can also expect a grayish or yellowish sky with more clouds.
Air quality is deteriorating
Air quality will deteriorate in the next few days. The influence of high pressure and the high concentration of dust in the air are responsible for this. Only after next weekend, when the clouds clear, will the air get fresher again.
