Merz is pushing for a reform plan by the summer break


According to several participants, Chancellor Friedrich Merz called for fundamental decisions on the upcoming social reforms by the summer break at the meeting of the CDU/CSU parliamentary group.

The CDU chairman is quoted as saying that there is a time window for reforms from Easter to the start of the summer break in mid-July. Fundamental decisions would have to be made during this period.

Söder: “There are no more excuses”

CSU boss Markus Söder had previously told “Stern”: “It’s best that everything has to happen between Easter and Pentecost. Now everyone has to get out of their ideological ivory towers.
