National coach Julian Nagelsmann nominates Lennart Karl for the German national football team for the first time. According to information from “Bild”, FC Bayern’s shooting star is in the squad for the international matches at the end of March.
Germany will face Switzerland (March 27) and Ghana (March 30) less than three months before the start of the World Cup. Karl will be making his international debut.
The 18-year-old attacking midfielder made his breakthrough at Bayern in his first professional season. Also due to an injury to Jamal Musiala Karl was used more in the first half of the season, scoring seven goals and setting up five more this season.

Musiala still has to wait for the DFB comeback
Musiala celebrated his comeback after breaking his fibula in January and has been collecting match practice ever since. Nagelsmann probably doesn’t want to take any risks with one of his biggest stars and decided not to nominate the 23-year-old.
A hype developed around Lennart Karl, which Nagelsmann consciously wanted to slow down. The national coach has so far refrained from nominating the shooting star, but he showed strong performances in the U21.
Karl can now advertise himself at the international matches, especially with regard to the WM in the USA, Mexico and Canada. This starts on June 11th, Germany will enter the tournament on June 14th against Curacao.
