Passenger hits train manager – trip canceled


On Tuesday morning, a ticket check escalated on a Deutsche Bahn ICE train on the way from Hanover to Berlin. A woman hit the train chief.

This is reported by the “Picture“. Accordingly, the 35-year-old suspect is said to come from the Ivory Coast. When the train manager checked her ticket, she showed a “cross-country ticket”. However, this only allows a nationwide journey on regional transport German railways permitted, not on long-distance trains or ICEs.

When explaining the facts, the platoon commander was said to be calm and helpful. He even presented the woman with an alternative route with regional trains to her destination Berlin. Nevertheless, the situation escalated.

100 passengers had to leave the train

After the woman did not comply with the request to leave the train at the Wolfsburg stop, she attacked the train boss. According to police, the 35-year-old hit the train chief.

The man then had to stop working because of stomach pain. At the next stop at Stendal main station in Saxony-Anhalt, he left the ICE together with around 100 uninvolved passengers. They were able to continue their journey to the federal capital 45 minutes later with the next express train.

The suspect was arrested by federal police officers directly at the train station. The police are now investigating the 35-year-old for, among other things, bodily harm and damage to property.

The attack on the Railway employees on the journey from Hanover to Berlin is not an isolated case. According to Deutsche Bahn, more than 3,000 attacks on its employees occurred last year. At the beginning of February he was beaten so brutally on a regional train from Kaiserslautern to Saarbrücken that he died in hospital the next day.
