The German Football Association and supplier Adidas presented the German national team’s new away jersey for the 2026 World Cup in the middle of Friday night.
Because the sporting goods manufacturer presented the new jerseys from 22 countries at the same time DFB World Cup jersey presented at around 5 a.m., which is unusual in Germany. It will premiere on March 27th at the game in Switzerland.
The design is also unusual: the deep blue basic color is intended to be reminiscent of the DFB team’s historic training tops, but in combination with light blue details the combination is a novelty. According to Adidas, the design follows the design lines of the home jersey.
The diagonal jagged stripes appear as a continuous zigzag pattern across the entire jersey and are inspired by classic design elements from previous Adidas shoe boxes.
Wirtz thinks the new jersey is “unusual, but really good”
“I find a Germany jersey in this color unusual – but really good,” said national player Florian Wirtz: “I’m really looking forward to playing in it soon.” In the future, the shirts will also be worn by the U national teams.
The German women’s team is sticking with its red away jerseys, only the white home jersey with black, red and gold elements is shared by both national teams.
The jerseys are available to buy on Friday from 10 a.m. – at the proud price of 100 euros for the normal version. The authentic version, with which the players will also play for Germany, costs 150 euros.
