The Russian one LNG tanker “Arctic Metagaz” was allegedly hit by a Ukrainian naval drone early Tuesday morning. The tanker, which is said to be about 150 nautical miles southeast of Malta near Libya, is part of the sanctioned shadow fleet Russians. He had loaded liquefied natural gas. Videos show the ship engulfed in flames.

Fate of crew “unclear”

After the attack there were several explosions on the ship. The automatic identification system (AIS) on board is said to have failed – according to ntv, in order to circumvent an embargo. In shipping circles it was said that the fate of the crew of the “Arctic Metagaz” was unclear.
