A verified TikTok account is causing a stir: under the name “Jeffrey Epstein”, an unknown user publishes videos about the deceased US criminal – and deliberately gives the impression that he is Epstein himself.
The blue verification badge on the profile is particularly irritating for many users. The account description provocatively states: “Yes, I am alive.” In the comments, numerous TikTok users expressed shock that an account with this name was even verified.

However, there is probably no new verification process behind it. It is possible that the account had already been previously verified under a different name and was simply changed later “Jeffrey Epstein” was renamed – a change that is generally possible on TikTok.
The account has been active since Saturday and has already built up a large reach in a short period of time. He is now followed by more than a million users. A total of 26 videos have been published so far.
The clips include, among other things, recordings from publicly available documents and surrounding materials the Epstein case on. The account also shows videos from places that are closely associated with it – for example his private island Little Saint James or his private jet.
It is still unclear who is actually behind the profile. The question of whether TikTok will take action against the account is also open.
