Moderator Kai Pflaume once again invites you to an “incredible duel”: ten celebrities compete against talented children to prove themselves in spectacular challenges. In the “Small vs. Large” episode broadcast on Saturday, Dieter Bohlen and his wife Carina, Sarah Connor and Johannes Oerding, Per Mertesacker and Jochen Breyer, Heino Ferch, Sebastian Jacoby and Frank Thelen want to demonstrate their skills. But at Dieter Bohlen, who took a critical look at DSDSand his Carina, the quiz quickly becomes irrelevant when they talk about their “unromantic” marriage proposal.

For Dieter Bohlen and his Carina it is the first appearance together in an entertainment show. The two of them use this attention to talk about their lives in front of and behind the camera. On December 31, 2025, the two finally said yes to each other in the Maldives – after 20 years together. By the way, it wasn’t the pop titan himself who got the ball rolling, but rather the 41-year-old. “I was sitting there with her in this little rubber boat as a joke, and suddenly she asked me: ‘Don’t we want to get married now?’” Bohlen remembers in an interview with presenter Kai Pflaume.

However, he wasn’t 100 percent thrilled about his lover’s marriage proposal: “It was very unromantic.” Carina is shocked by her husband’s statement and can hardly believe her ears: “My proposal was unromantic?!” However, the 72-year-old is quickly able to reassure her: the place wasn’t exactly to his liking.

Sports accident: Dieter Bohlen injures his eye

But the pop titan has another surprising story to tell: He recently had a painful accident.

“A new padel court had just opened and I had spectators and really wanted to make the big one,” explains Dieter Bohlen at the beginning and is finally interrupted by Kai Pflaume. “For once, do the fat thing. Otherwise it’s not your style, right?” jokes the moderator cheekily.

“I had sunglasses on and hit my eye with the padel racket. Then all of a sudden, after the accident, a sleepy Indian doctor came with a syringe – then he wanted to sew it up. Then I said: ‘Nothing will be sewn up. It will now be covered up with a plaster,'” the pop titan remembers. Dieter Bohlen was lucky in misfortune: Although he had to take it easy for a while, he didn’t suffer any serious injuries.

In a duel against eleven-year-old Ameli Dieter, who had to cope with the loss of his father, and Carina Bohlen very good. The pair have to recognize well-known music videos from the 80s just by looking at the images and correctly assign titles and artists. They recognized all the music videos correctly – just like their opponent. A play-off finally decides the duel in Ameli’s favor.
