“Where does Precht get the right to talk about sexism?”

The journalist and human rights activist Düzen Tekkal posted a video on Instagram on Wednesday in which she sharply criticized Richard David Precht’s statements.

Precht had previously spoken out against the sexism allegations on the ntv talk show CDU politician Manuel Hagel expressed. His statements in a television program from 2018 were “insanely exaggerated,” he said Pretty. Hagel came under criticism during the state parliament election campaign in Baden-Württemberg because, in a television interview, he raved about, among other things, the “fawn eyes” of an underage student.

Tekkal: “Now he wants to explain to us what sexism is”

In her video outraged Tekkal about the fact that Precht did not criticize Hagel for his statement, but rather the Green politician who made the recording public. “Now he also wants to explain to us what sexism is and is downplaying Manuel Hagel’s statement that he made about a young student,” said Tekkal. She further explains that she is not interested in party politics, but rather about women’s rights and sexism. She criticized the fact that the Green politician who posted the video had now come into focus.

Journalist criticizes “perpetrator-victim reversal”

“How can it be that we are now making the person who exposed this sexism the perpetrator because she used a video that already existed? Why is this perpetrator-victim reversal being carried out? Where does Richard David Precht actually get the right to sit down like that and dare to talk about what sexism means and what it doesn’t mean?” said Tekkal on Instagram.
